Steve Gale opened Steve Gale Realty in 1981 in the back of his souvenir shop on Main Street in Chimney Rock, NC, in response to questions he had been fielding for years. Guests visiting the area would come into the shop and ask where they could purchase property so they could make more frequent visits and/or possibly retire to the area. They realized, as he had, that the mountains of WNC are a very special place. Instead of sending them down the road, Steve knew he could help them find the place they had in mind.
Steve is a native of Bat Cave, NC. He graduated from the University of Mississippi and worked in Atlanta in sales for major corporations before moving back to Bat Cave with his wife in 1978. His life-long knowledge and love of this area set him apart from other realtors. He is an active member of the community, involved in many organizations. He is a founding member, past President and Treasurer of the Hickory Nut Gorge Chamber of Commerce, a board member of the Chimney Rock Village Community Development Association and a committee chair of its revitalization efforts, a Friend of Hickory Nut Gorge, a board member of the Hickory Nut Gorge Land Conservancy and an officer and long-standing member of the Chimney Rock Volunteer Fire Department. Steve is a well-connected “local” who looks forward to welcoming you to his “hometown.”
Joe Carter, Associate Broker/Realtor
Joe was born and raised in the North Carolina mountains and graduated from Mars Hill College. He served in the US Army and is a Vietnam Veteran. Joe and his wife Linda own and operate the Carter Lodge in Chimney Rock Village. He is also an active Nationwide Insurance agent.
Joe, like Steve, is involved in helping his community. He is a member of the Hickory Nut Gorge Chamber of Commerce and the secretary of the Chimney Rock Village Volunteer Fire Department. Joe served for 6 years on the Village of Chimney Rock Town Council. He looks forward to working with you to find the property or place that best suits your personal needs.
